Soft, Sweet, & Totally Snuggly Party Decor

For this party, I wanted everything to feel soft — visually and emotionally. Think teddy‑bear‑meets‑baby‑blanket vibes.

The Backdrop

I chose a light blue fabric backdrop because it instantly softened the entire room. Fabric backdrops have this magical ability to make everything feel warm and dreamy — no harsh reflections, no plastic shine, just pure softness.

If you’re looking to recreate this balloon garland: THIS is the kit that I got, but I bought 2 of them to make the garland the size I wanted it. I even had balloons left over to use elsewhere in the party!

To keep the cozy theme going, I layered:

The combination of textures made everything feel warm and inviting.

Tip: Fabric textures photograph beautifully and instantly elevate your setup — even if everything else is simple.

The Centerpiece

A stuffed teddy bear sat proudly at the center of the table, sitting on a balloon tabletop stand, looking like it was floating away on a cloud.

It’s whimsical.
It’s adorable.
And it’s the kind of detail that makes guests lean in for a closer look.

Party Food: Easy, Cute, & Straight From the Storybook

Let’s start with the part kids care about most: the food table.
This theme makes it ridiculously easy because the book literally hands you the menu.

Here’s what I served (and what you can totally steal):

Caterpillar wraps (The star of the table!)

I made simple meat‑and‑veggie wraps using spinach tortillas, sliced them into rounds, and arranged them into two adorable caterpillars on a platter. Instant centerpiece. Zero effort. Maximum “OMG that’s so cute.

Tip: Use Babybel cheese for a perfect caterpillar head!

Fruit snacks inspired by the book

  • Watermelon
  • Pickles
  • Cheese cubes
  • Salami
  • Strawberries
  • Lollipops
  • Oranges
  • Pears

Water Bottles & Chips

We had:

Drink wraps

Not pictured at the party but available in my shop:

Pro Tip: If you’re hosting outdoors or in a classroom, pre‑portion snacks into cups or baggies. It keeps things tidy and makes refills a breeze

Party Decor: Bright, Bold, & Budget-Friendly

You don’t need a giant budget to make this theme pop. The colors do all the heavy lifting.

DIY Streamer Backdrop

I twisted green and red streamers into vertical lines, alternating colors to mimic the caterpillar’s body. Then I hung the birthday banner across the top.

It looked like a Pinterest board came to life—without the Pinterest stress.

Kid's Table Setup

The kid’s table had:

  • Caterpillar‑themed paper plates (The plates I got are no longer available, but they have these adorable ones instead!)
  • Matching napkins
  • A simple tablecloth
  • Apples with handmade leaf‑shaped name tags (cut on my Cricut!)
Party Table

Tip: If you’re hosting for toddlers, tape the tablecloth underneath the table so little hands don’t pull it off mid‑party

Party Favors: Cute, Themed, & Kid Approved

This is where the theme gets really fun.

Fruit Candy Treat Bags

I filled small bags with fruit‑flavored candies and sealed them with my printable treat toppers.

These are also available fully assembled in my shop if you want zero DIY!

Apple Placeholders

Hungry Caterpillar apple

Each child got an apple with a handmade leaf name tag.
It doubled as:

  • A table placeholder
  • A healthy snack
  • And cute take‑home item

I paired each squishy fruit toy with a printable squishy toy tag.

Kids LOVE playing with these.

Party Activities: Hands-On Fun That Keeps Kids Busy

You know how kids get after cake—sugar energy is real.

These activities kept everyone entertained and happy.

Hungry Caterpillar Suncatcher Craft

I set out caterpillar suncatcher kits and let the kids decorate them. (I repackaged them in order to add this super cute tag to them!)

It’s generally mess‑free, quiet, and perfect for all ages.

They loved seeing their finished creations hanging in the window!

Hungry Caterpillar Food Toss Game

This one was a total crowd‑pleaser!

I made:

  • A box with a cut‑out caterpillar mouth
  • Felt foods that matched the book

Kids & adults, alike, tossed the foods into the caterpillar’s mouth like a carnival game.

Tip: If you’re short on time, you can use beanbags or soft balls instead of handmade felt foods.

Final Tips for Pulling This Party Together (Without Stress)

  • Stick to the book’s color palette—green, red, yellow

  • Use labels everywhere (it instantly elevates simple food)

  • Printables = less shopping, less money, more cohesion

  • Don’t aim for perfection—aim for fun

Why Choose Valentine Tic-Tac-Toe?

Valentine Tic-Tac-Toe isn’t just cute; it’s a game! It gives kids something interactive to do instead of just collecting cards and candy. Plus, the panda design adds an extra level of charm, making this Valentine stand out from the crowd. Parents and teachers will love that it’s not only fun but also super easy to put together.

What You’ll Need:

  • Free printable Valentine Tic-Tac-Toe cards (download below!)

  • Cardstock paper

  • Scissors

  • Cellophane bags

  • 10 Valentine-themed candies per bag (think conversation hearts, red and pink M&Ms, or heart-shaped gummies)

  • Stickers or tape to seal the bags

    How to Assemble:

    1. Download and Print: Grab our free Valentine Tic-Tac-Toe printable and print it onto cardstock. The sturdy paper ensures your cards look polished and hold up during gameplay.
    2. Cut It Out: Use scissors to cut along the dotted lines. Each sheet makes multiple cards, so you’ll have plenty to share!
    3. Bag It Up: Place one tic-tac-toe card and 10 candies into each cellophane bag. The candies double as game pieces, so choose two different colors or types for easy play.
    4. Seal the Deal: Fold over the top of the bag and secure it with a cute Valentine’s Day sticker or tape. Bonus points if the sticker matches the panda theme!
    5. Share the Love: Hand them out to classmates, friends, or neighbors and watch the smiles roll in.

    Tips for Extra Flair:

    • Use decorative-edge scissors to give the cards a fun border.

    • Write a personalized Valentine’s Day message on the back of each card.

    • Include an instruction card if you’re giving them to younger kids who might not know how to play tic-tac-toe yet.

Why Kids (and Parents) Will Love It:

    • Interactive Fun: This isn’t just another card to toss in a pile; it’s a game kids can play over and over.

    • DIY Charm: Handmade Valentines always feel extra special.

    • Candy Bonus: Let’s be honest, the candy is half the fun!

    • Budget-Friendly: With just a few materials, you can make dozens of Valentines without breaking the bank.

*Click on the picture to download the file*

Bluey party hats- Download, print on cardstock, and cut out. Then, wrap the design into a cone with about 1/2 to 1 inch overlap. Secure with tape or glue (I usually use hot glue)

To add a strap, you can punch holes on either side to tie a stretchy string to, glue or staple a couple thin ribbons to tie under the chin, use tape with stretchy string… whatever works best for you.

Water Bottle Labels- Download, print on lightweight cardstock or full sheets of sticker paper (I like this sticker paper the best). Then, cut out the design and wrap it around a water bottle. Sticker paper is easiest and sticks directly to the bottle, but you can also secure cardstock with tape or glue.

Food Labels/Table Tents- Download, print on heavyweight cardstock, cut out, then fold in half to stand them up.

Straw Flags- Download this fun Bluey birthday party printable, print on lightweight cardstock or sticker paper, cut out, and wrap around your straw. If using cardstock, secure with glue or tape.

Bluey Thank You Tags- Download, print on heavyweight cardstock, cut out, punch a hole in the center at the top, and attach with string or ribbon. This design looks cute both with and without the top corners cut so do it whichever way you like best!

Bluey Cupcake Toppers- Download, print on heavyweight cardstock, cut out (or use a 2.5″ hole punch to make it quick and easy), then attach a toothpick to the back with tape or glue. You can easily make these double sided with one circle on each side of the toothpick!

Rita’s Beans (Jelly bean bags)- Download the Bluey birthday party printable, then print on regular copy paper or glossy brochure paper for a more professional look. Cut out.

Use double sided tape or hot glue along the bottom edge and one side (make sure you apply it to the back side of the paper, not the printed side). If you use tape, add it to the top edge as well.

Fold the paper where the blue part of the design is the front and the light orange faces the back. The side flap with the glue or tape gets folded second so that it secures the two back sides together. This creates a pocket with the bottom closed.

Add your jelly beans. Seal the top closed. Finally, for an added professional look, use a paper crimper and pinking shears on the top and bottom edges.

    Lego Avengers Kid's Table

Who doesn’t love a snazzy party hat?

And when you throw Lego Super Heroes into the mix, things get even more awesome! I took inspiration from the geniuses at Powerful Mothering and tweaked their fantastic party hat template to make way for the beloved Lego Avengers.

The Lego brick napkins were an instant hit, adding a touch of flair to the table settings while keeping our young heroes squeaky clean.

    …kinda

Not only did they serve their practical purpose, but they also added a burst of color that tied everything together in the most delightful way.

    Table decor

The centerpieces were a blast of creativity, with Lego Avengers popping out to say hello.

Thanks to some ingenious printables and a generous sprinkle of imagination (and Legos 😜), these centerpieces turned into a Marvel-filled play zone.

It was fun to see the Lego bricks on “spring” pipe cleaners bouncing in the wind! It added a touch of whimsy that had the kids giggling in delight.

    Fueling Avengers Super Hero Appetites

Our treat table was a spectacular sight to behold, brimming with goodies that would put a smile on even Tony Stark’s face!

I made the cake, cupcakes, and cake toppers for this awesome party. I don’t consider myself a fabulous cake decorator, but the kids thought the cake was awesome so I call it a win 😉

The cupcakes were topped with Lego Avengers (free printable link down below!), and chocolate-covered Oreos bore the iconic Avengers logo. I used a stencil made with my Cricut machine, cardstock paper, and edible color spay to decorate the Oreos.

    But that’s not all!

Who could resist the temptation of Thor’s hammer “Mjolnir” chocolate-covered marshmallows and pretzels (made with dairy free dark chocolate and edible silver sparkle dust– I LOVE HOW THEY TURNED OUT!), or the dazzling Ring Pop “Infinity Stones”?

My treat bags were filled with Skittles and Starbursts for instant energy boosts, while juice boxes took on the form of Lego bricks – a perfect fit for our Lego Super Heroes.

Not to mention the water bottles adorned with printable building brick wraps and the candied popcorn housed in a charming printable building brick container, complete with a heartfelt “Thank You” tag.

These printable popcorn containers were designed by Powerful Mothering.

Additionally, chocolate covered pretzels and fig bars completed the delicious looking treat table.

Our goodies were made half-dairy free to accommodate half of our party guests 🙂

The treat table was a marvel in itself, setting the stage for a delectable adventure.

    Lego Super-Powered Tokens of Appreciation

Our heroes deserved only the best when it came to party favors!

Each guest received personalized coloring books. These allowed them to unleash their artistic powers, along with Lego Avenger crayon boxes (yes, it’s a free printable!).

But that’s not all! The real show-stoppers were the Lego brick treat boxes, housing squishy Lego bricks and stretchy flying superhero toys that soared straight into their hearts.

Our party favors were a reminder that every participant was a true Lego Super Hero!

    Unmasking the Mischief-Makers

The heart-pounding Lego Avengers Villain Scavenger Hunt had everyone channeling their inner detective at the party. Along the nature walking trail of the park, Popsicle-stick-mounted villains awaited discovery.

It was a challenge to spot these mischievous characters and save the day! This free printable game (link down below) added a touch of excitement, turning our outdoor adventure into a thrilling mission

    Smashing Fun for All Ages

What’s a party without a pinata? Our Lego-themed pinata added a dynamic touch to the celebration.

With cheers and laughter, our young Super Heroes took turns wielding their power to bring the pinata down. Doing so revealed a trove of treats that rivaled Tony Stark’s inventions!

    Conclusion

Our Lego Super Hero-themed party was an unforgettable adventure that combined the creativity of Lego with the excitement of Avengers. From the treat table laden with Avengers-themed goodies to the party favors that celebrated each guest’s unique superpower, our celebration captured the essence of what it means to be a Super Hero.
