DIY Bluey Magic: Printables!

Let’s kick things off with some DIY magic! Printables are a great way to add a personal touch to your Bluey party favors without breaking the bank. Here are a few ideas to get you started:

Party Printables:
Your printables can pull double duty: they can be party decorations and party favors at the same time! From drink wraps to candy wrappers to treat toppers, there are many printable options to customize your perfect party.

  • Here is a free set of printables that I made for my son’s birthday! (Check out the party HERE for some awesome ideas!)
  • There are also some really cute pink printables if you have a little one that likes pink more than blue.

Coloring Pages:
Create a mini coloring book featuring Bluey, Bingo, and their friends. You can find printable Bluey coloring pages online. Just print them out, staple them together, and voila! Instant entertainment. Here are some good places for for printable coloring pages:

Activity Sheets:
From mazes to word searches, Bluey-themed activity sheets are a hit. Bundle a few different activities together and tie them with a colorful ribbon. It’s an easy and fun way to keep the Bluey fun going even after the party ends.

Sweet Bluey Party Favor Ideas

No party favor bag is complete without some tasty treats! Here are some Bluey-inspired goodies that will satisfy any sweet tooth:

Bluey Gummies:
What is better than a treat that is ready to go when you get it?!

I’ll tell you what’s better… bum worms! Yup! Bum worms.

The kids (and adults) all giggle when they hear they are eating bum worms. You can stick some gummy worms in little cellophane bags with a treat topper on it or simply put them in a bowl with a food label proclaiming the name of this delicious treat.

Puppy Chow:
Whip up a batch of blue and orange (or pink) puppy chow (or Muddy Buddies) and package it in small bags with a cute Bluey label. It’s a crunchy, chocolatey treat that’s perfect for a Bluey party.

Bluey Cookies:
Bake or buy some Bluey-shaped cookies. (Here are some Bluey cookie cutters to make it easy for you!) Decorate them with blue icing and fun sprinkles. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can even attempt to create cookies in the shapes of other characters from the show.

These Yes/No Button Biscuits would be easy to make and the kids can have fun pretending they have a yes/no button like Bingo and Bluey!

Candy Bags:
Fill small bags with blue, orange, and white candies like jellybeans (Rita’s beans!), gumballs, or M&Ms. Add a Bluey-themed tag and you’ve got a sweet and simple treat.

Cupcakes:
This option is super simple to do! You can make or buy cupcakes and then top with Bluey colored sprinkles and a fun cupcake topper. There are a lot of printable options to choose from (including my free ones!), but you can also get Bluey rings or premade toppers if you don’t want to put them together yourself.

Chocolate Covered Pretzels:
These are so easy to make. You just take pretzel rods and dip them in colored chocolate or candy melts. Top with sprinkles, nuts, tiny candies, etc.

Even better than that…. dip them in green colored chocolate, add green sprinkles on the end, and make Magic Asparagus!

Magic Claw Tokens:
Kids can pretend to play a magic claw machine by using chocolate coins as tokens. These could also be used as Bingo’s pirate treasure or Rita’s coins.

Takeaway Fortune Cookies:
Another easy party favor idea: Fortune cookies. You definitely get bonus points if you make your own cookies with unique fortunes inside!

Keep The Fun Going

Party favors don’t have to be just take-home items. Incorporate some fun games that kids can enjoy during the party and then take home the supplies as a favor!

Bluey Bingo:
Create Bluey-themed bingo cards and use small toys or candy as markers. The kids can play a round of bingo during the party and then take home their cards and markers as a keepsake.

If you don’t want to create your own, you can buy a printable option like this one by JYMEI or this one by TheDigitalStylistTO, or try this Bingo game if you’d rather have one that’s ready to go!

Feather Wand:
Give the kids feathers to use as wands, but be careful! Whatever they point it at becomes “heavy”, and you could find yourself eating “Rita’s beans” off of the floor!

Magic Asparagus Bubble Wands:
Take green bubble wands, print out this asparagus head and leaves, then use double sided tape to stick them to the bubble wands. Better run when your little ones get these out… they can use them to turn you in to any animal!

Keepy Uppy:
A Bluey party just isn’t complete without balloons for a game of Keepy Uppy. The best part? It’s cheap and kids love them! All you have to do to play this game is blow up a balloon and keep it off the ground! Easy peasy. The red balloons match the show the best, but feel free to match your party’s color scheme instead!

Scavenger Hunt:
Option #1– Organize a Bluey scavenger hunt like this one by PhenixPapers with clues and small prizes. Each child can take home the goodies they find along the way, making the game both fun and rewarding.

Option #2– There is an official Bluey Scavenger Hunt Game you can try out if you are looking for something to keep the kids a bit more contained.

Option #3Long Dog Scavenger Hunt! What scavenger hunt could be better than the one they already play throughout the show?! Print out this long dog printable, cut out the long dogs, and then hide them around your party area for the kids to find! For an option the kids can take home, check out these awesome options on Etsy! There are stickers, magnets, stuffed animals, 3D printed, etc.

Craft Stations:
Set up a craft station with Bluey-themed supplies like stickers, markers, and construction paper. The kids can create their own Bluey artwork to take home as a special memento. Ideas:

  1. Paint Your Own Husband: How awesome are these Zen Garden Gnome “Husbands”?! Your little one can paint their own Hecuba to take home!
  2. Name Bracelets: Gather some blue, orange, pink, and white pony beads, some letter beads, and stretchy string. These are cheap, easy, and very popular right now! Plus, who doesn’t like personalized party favors? Here is one bundle that has everything you’d need!
  3. Bluey Face Stickers: These interesting stickers would be a fun Bluey party favor. The kids can play with changing out the facial expressions and accessories of the Bluey characters.

Other Fun Bluey Party Favors:

Sleepytime Stars:
A few glow-in-the-dark stars in a baggie makes a perfect, simple party favor that kids can take home and enjoy every time they turn out the lights.

Slap Bracelets:
Put on a slap bracelet and you can be just like Bluey!

Granny Glasses:
Here come the grannies with their flower sunglasses! If you really want to make it fun, find small blankets they can wear, items they can use for canes, etc. Just don’t let the grannies drive!

Adopt A Floppy:
This activity will delight young guests as they get to adopt their own Floppy, just like Bingo’s!

Sticky Gecko:
What’s not to love about sticky, stretchy geckos? Kids have tons of fun throwing these around to stick to windows, walls, people, and ceilings (like Bluey and Bingo!)

Wrapping Up

With your party favors figured out, don’t forget to have a bag or box ready for the kids to take their goodies home in!

And there you have it! With these fun and easy Bluey party favor ideas, your party is sure to be a hit. So gather your supplies, get creative, and let the Bluey fun begin! Happy partying!

Bluey Party Ideas

Bluey Decorations

First things first, let’s set the scene. You don’t need to splurge to create a Bluey wonderland. Here are some budget-friendly ideas:

  1.  Bluey Table Settings: I found a fun party package at Party City that was cheap and perfect for what we needed. If you aren’t near a Party City and need the supplies quickly, Amazon has some similar party packages!
  2. Streamers and Banners: Use crepe paper streamers in Bluey colors (blue, white, orange) and twist them around the party area. I made a printable “Happy Birthday” banner and completely forgot to get pictures of it hanging up, haha. It’s a FREE printable on my website though, so go ahead and print it out to use for your own party! Bluey birthday banner
  3. Balloons: Balloons are such a fun and easy way to add excitement to a party! You can make a balloon garland over your cake table (there are garland kits and character balloons on Amazon that help take the guess work out of how much to buy).

Food & Snacks

Now, let’s talk about the most important part – the food!

Keeping it simple and fun, here is our menu that we did inspired by Bluey episodes:

Bluey Party food table
  1. Hot Dogs: Snickers, the “sausage dog” is one of our favorite characters! It was easy to make him our inspiration for the main food item.
  2. Fruit Bat Fruit Cups: Fruit Bat Bluey made an appearance, and I absolutely love how quick, easy, and cheap this party food is!
  3. Chips: Our “chippies” had an extra exciting hand made wrapper that my little one got SO excited about when he was opening them up!
  4. Veggie Tray: While I couldn’t come up with a way to fit it in to the theme, this mama definitely felt the need to get some anyways. Gotta have the “good” to balance the “bad”, right? Haha

…on to the snacks!

 Treat table

1. Bluey Fruit Snacks: I found these awesome Bluey fruit snacks on Amazon and couldn’t pass them up! For less than $6/box it was a perfect addition to our treat table.

2. Bum Worms: We did both regular and sour gummy worms for our “Bum worms” to give the kids some options. It was a hit for kids and adults alike, as I’m sure you can imagine.

Bluey Party Favors

Now would be the perfect time to go in to Bluey party favor options!

A lot of parents these days are turned off by little trinkets that just clutter up the house and end up getting thrown in the trash. We opted for party favors that could be used at the party to entertain the kids and they fit the theme perfectly!

  1. Keepy Uppy: A Bluey party just isn’t complete without balloons for a game of Keepy Uppy. The best part? It’s cheap and kids love them! All you have to do to play this game is blow up a balloon and keep it off the ground! Easy peasy.
  2. Sticky Gecko: We ended up getting these sticky lizards instead of geckos since they were a cheaper option (only $5.50 for 12!), but no one really noticed the difference. All of the kids loved slinging them around. They got dirty pretty quickly, but we were able to easily rinse them off for more fun.
  3. Rita’s Beans: Here come the grannies with some tasty jelly beans! I designed these cute treat bags and have them for you for FREE in my printable library! They are easy to print, cut, and glue together to make a delicious, affordable, and on-theme treat that everyone will love. Speaking of grannies…
  4. Granny glasses: These flower sunglasses would match “Rita’s” petty well, but this mama wanted a cheaper option and needed glasses that would appeal to boys as well as girls. I grabbed boy and girl glasses from the party section at Walmart.
Bluey party favor thank you tag

If you opt to use party bags for the favors instead of laying them out like we did, I do have a printable Thank You tag you can use!

If you want more Bluey party favor ideas, check out this blog post! I’ve gathered a giant list of party favor ideas that are absolutely perfect for a Bluey themed party, so you’ll be sure to find the right ones for yours!

Bluey Party Games

What’s a party without games? Here are some Bluey-inspired activities that will keep the little ones giggling and having fun:

obstacle course relay race

1. Relay Race: Let the kids run as “fast as a greyhound” in a home made obstacle course relay race. You can use logs to balance on, hoops to jump through, slides, cones for zig zagging, set up 2 cinder blocks with a piece of wood running between for the kids to crawl under …anything that gets them moving in different ways!

Our kids ranged from 2-9 years old, so we just started a timer and let them run multiple times to try to beat their own time. It kept the little ones from getting hurt by the competitive big kids. Our tunnel kept blowing away, so you may want to find a way to stake yours to the ground if you use one, lol.

2. Feather Wand: Give the kids long feathers to use as wands, but be careful! Whatever they point at becomes “heavy”, and you could find yourself eating “Rita’s beans” off the floor!

Pass The Parcel

3. Pass The Parcel: There are two ways you can play this game. Both ways have a prize in the center that gets wrapped with many layers of wrapping paper or tissue paper,  and an adult plays music. When the music stops, whoever has the gift, unwraps a layer.

First way to play, you wrap a small gift in the center. Then, add more layers on top each with a small trinket in it. An adult stops the music on each child once so they all get a small prize.

OR you can play by “Lucky’s Dad’s rules”…there is one large surprise in the center and every other layer is empty. The adult doesn’t look and randomly stops the music. Whichever kid gets the final layer is the one kid that gets a prize. We played this way and our oldest ended up with the prize: Bluey stretchy scented sand! I wanted a prize that fit the theme and no matter which kid would have gotten it, this prize would have been awesome to them all!

4. Bob Bilby Photo Album: Grab one of these Bob Bilby puppets, an instant camera, and a small scrapbook album. Let the kids take pictures doing fun activities with Bob Bilby. Put the photos in the album and let them personalize their page with stickers, permanent markers, etc. It would make a perfect momento for the birthday boy/girl.

5. Memory Snap: Grab a memory game (any memory game will work, but this Bluey one is one of my favorites!) and see who can make the most matches!

Wrapping Up

There you have it, y’all! A complete guide to throwing a Bluey-themed party that’s fun, affordable, and sure to make your little one’s day. Remember, the key to a great party is the joy and excitement you bring to it. So, embrace your inner Bluey, get creative, and most importantly, have fun! Wackadoo!

Bluey printables- Pinterest

These free Bluey party printables are easy to use. Simply download, print, cut out, assemble, and you’re good to go!

This collection includes a Happy Birthday banner, 2″ cupcake toppers, birthday hats, straw flags, table tents, thank you tags, water bottle labels, and DIY jelly bean bags.

Want some help figuring out party favors for all your little guests? Check out this blog post where I compiled a giant list of Bluey party favor ideas to make your party planning easier!

Download the Bluey birthday party printables here

Bluey party hats- Download, print on cardstock, and cut out. Then, wrap the design into a cone with about 1/2 to 1 inch overlap. Secure with tape or glue (I usually use hot glue)

To add a strap, you can punch holes on either side to tie a stretchy string to, glue or staple a couple thin ribbons to tie under the chin, use tape with stretchy string… whatever works best for you.

Water Bottle Labels- Download, print on lightweight cardstock or full sheets of sticker paper (I like this sticker paper the best). Then, cut out the design and wrap it around a water bottle. Sticker paper is easiest and sticks directly to the bottle, but you can also secure cardstock with tape or glue.

Food Labels/Table Tents- Download, print on heavyweight cardstock, cut out, then fold in half to stand them up.

Straw Flags- Download this fun Bluey birthday party printable, print on lightweight cardstock or sticker paper, cut out, and wrap around your straw. If using cardstock, secure with glue or tape.

Bluey Thank You Tags- Download, print on heavyweight cardstock, cut out, punch a hole in the center at the top, and attach with string or ribbon. This design looks cute both with and without the top corners cut so do it whichever way you like best!

Bluey Cupcake Toppers- Download, print on heavyweight cardstock, cut out (or use a 2.5″ hole punch to make it quick and easy), then attach a toothpick to the back with tape or glue. You can easily make these double sided with one circle on each side of the toothpick!

Rita’s Beans (Jelly bean bags)- Download the Bluey birthday party printable, then print on regular copy paper or glossy brochure paper for a more professional look. Cut out.

Use double sided tape or hot glue along the bottom edge and one side (make sure you apply it to the back side of the paper, not the printed side). If you use tape, add it to the top edge as well.

Fold the paper where the blue part of the design is the front and the light orange faces the back. The side flap with the glue or tape gets folded second so that it secures the two back sides together. This creates a pocket with the bottom closed.

Add your jelly beans. Seal the top closed. Finally, for an added professional look, use a paper crimper and pinking shears on the top and bottom edges.

This is the one you want for a boy!
